MechWarrior 5 developer Piranha Online games is working on a new title in the extensive-working MechWarrior sequence, with the studio now aiming to release the venture in 2024.

Piranha Video games president Russ Bullock shared the information during an job interview with the NoGutsNoGalaxy podcast (many thanks Personal computer Gamer), teasing, “I’ll just say that it is really not MechWarrior On-line 2, it is not the successor to MechWarrior On the internet, it’s not an online PvP [game] – feel of it additional in line with MechWarrior 5, but a standalone recreation, a standalone item.”

According to Bullock, the currently mysterious title – which is staying produced for Personal computer and consoles – follows “more of a single-participant co-op sort of pathway”. Past that, although, facts are slender, and a complete reveal may well not happen right until this autumn.

Somewhere else in the interview, Bullock touched on MechWarrior On line, expressing the studio would unquestionably be interested in performing a sequel to its 2013 activity. That, on the other hand, won’t happen right until licensing troubles have been addressed – presently, Piranha has the MechWarrior license right until “at minimum” 2025, but would “probably need to have an extension to 2030” to do a MechWarrior On line 2.

“You happen to be not going to make a MechWarrior Online 2 if your license is probably above in 2025,” he added, noting the job would require “more runway than that”.

In the rapid long run, Piranha has much more in shop for MechWarrior 5, with its fourth DLC launch – Increase of Rasalhague – launching on 26th January.
